                                      THE CLOVER MAMA AFRICA PROJECT



The Clover Mama Afrika project received the Rural Development Award at the 2nd Annual SA Premier Awards hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry recently. The award aims to recognise and promote community projects that are part of Government’s strategic interventions in poverty alleviation. Amongst the attendees was President Jacob Zuma who personally congratulated all of the winners. 



Clover Manager of Corporate Services and Clover Mama Afrika Trust, Professor Elain Vlok with some of the 40 Clover Mama’s. The trust was recognised for their role in uplifting communities across South Africa at the recent 2nd Annual SA Premier Award ceremony and walked away with the Rural Development Award. The awards target emerging co-operatives operating in any sector of the economy within a rural community and focuses on the creation of sustainable job opportunities. Over the past decade, Clover Mama Afrika has established a reputation for being one of the country’s most innovative, effective and sustainable corporate investment programmes, bringing tangible benefits to the people it aims to uplift at grassroots level. The project also aims to empower the mama’s with viable skills which they use to earn a sustainable income.
